The breakers at Labenne are magnificent for those who are confident in water and the beach is watched over by lifeguards throughout the summer. A green flag indicates that it is safe even for the tiniest tots to play safely in the shallows (as long as they are supervised by an adult) and amber indicates that even strong swimmers need to exercise caution. Mean sea level is 10m below the dunes at the beach head where the childrens' playpark and cafes are situated and where outdoor showers are installed for those who like to shower-away the sand on leaving the beach - a short causeway/slope connects these facilities to the beach itself.

For those who prefer to swim in fresh water, Labenne boasts an Aquapark which is only a few hundred metres from the chalet/studio. It has multiple pools, cascades, waterfalls and huge slides for the young and the young at heart to enjoy.
