The pretty harbour town of Cap Breton and the chic resort of Hossegor are just a few miles to the North of Labenne whilst the regional capital - Bayonne, situated at the mouth of the river Adour, is only 15 mins (by car) to the South. The prestigious resorts of Biarritz and St Jean de Luz can be reached just as quickly using the by-pass around Bayonne

A little further afield, but still within easy touring range, are the border villages of Spain which are particularly attractive in summer when the balconies are bedecked with garlands of flowers. The journey to Lourdes which many now regard as a flourishing commercial centre rather than a place of pilgrimage takes only 75 mins.

Finally, the Spanish resort of San Sebastien is quite different in atmosphere from the nearby French resorts but is equally attractive and repays the travel time with some breathtaking views.
